The data gathering and display remix workshop was based on the programme "Processing" which we used to create two different pieces of work. We had an intrductory task to create a house using coding in order to get to grips with how the programme works. We also learnt about coding colour as well as positioning through "hello processing" as shown below which is a tutorial of how to use the programme. It elaborates on the difference between stroke and fill and how to code the size of your page and add shapes. It also elaborated on RGB (reds, greens, blues) which helped when coding the colours of the final outcomes.

Its main focus was how to work with processing with
- Shapes and colour
- Producing a more appealing visual for mundane data
- How to prepare the page to add visuals to
Above the left we have a series of videos in which I used to help create a better understanding of the programme. I found this very useful as I had never programmed a page before therefore I gained a lot of insight and this information can and will be used in the future.
Processing is a flexible software sketchbook and a language for learning how to code within the context of the visual arts. Since 2001, Processing has promoted software literacy within the visual arts and visual literacy within technology. There are tens of thousands of students, artists, designers, researchers, and hobbyists who use Processing for learning and prototyping.
PROCESSING
We are all surrounded by data, which is exposed to the world. This has made an impact as it is available for everyone to use. We as designers find ways to manipulate all mundane things into something more extravagant, in this case data visualisation is used to communicate with the public in a more enlightening way and has been further develped into interactive data visualisation allowing us to interpret data in a new fashion.

THE WORKSHOP
Above we have a series of videos in which I used to help create a better understanding of the programme. I found this very useful as I had never programmed a page before therefore I gained a lot of insight and this information can and will be used in the future.

The task was to create a spreadsheet using excel of a chosen topic in order to transform it into a for of visual data (images shown on the right with coding) I chose an existing example demonstrated by me lecturer and altered the colours and text.
